Bonjour et bienvenue à la classe de français!
Hello, my name is Rosa I. Rodela and I will be your child’s French teacher! I look forward to the adventures we will share as your child embarks or continues on their language acquisition journey. I use a variety of methodologies to ensure your child develops linguistic ability in all four language areas: reading and listening comprehension, speaking, and writing. Learning a language is learning another culture as well, and students are made aware of cultural similarities and differences to be able to function in the target language and culture as well.
I began learning French while I was a student at Jefferson High School. I continued my studies in French at the University of TX at El Paso and earned a B.A. in French Language and Literature, as well as a B.A. in English and American Literature, simultaneously.
I attempt my best to make learning French language and culture fun, often incorporating my own souvenirs, photos, and experience from my time spent in France. Your child will often have a presentation or project due that incorporates all that they have learned thus far to be able to exhibit that they have made the linguistic and cultural connections they’ve been exploring during class. I strongly suggest they use all the time allotted (normally 1-2 weeks) to be able to showcase their skills.
Grades and levels taught:
